Senior citizens of the society represent the past out of which present has come into existence. Not to be taken as ungrateful, the younger generation is expected to be duty bound to take proper care of their elders, well-realizing that the youth shall also very soon turn into an age of elders and would expect the same treatment which we are required to deliver our elders at present. Under an empathetic concern for the elders, S. Onkar Singh Sandhu, in company with like minded friends realized the necessity of providing proper environment with adequate facilities to help the senior citizens live a comfortable life under proper care. With inspiration and co-operation from his sincere friends, a momentous project was inaugurated on 21 July 2001 to establish Guru Ram Dass Old Age Home in a plot measuring 1150 sq yds at the Upper BaiZi Doab Canal, Link Road, Amritsar. For this Purpose, Vishvkarma WelfareTrust has been formed under a trust Deed duly registered.
